Charcuterie boards have become an art form lately because they are so fun to make and delicious to eat. This is something that's easy to involve kids in and makes a great snack, party dish or dinner. Best of all, it looks fancy but requires minimum work -- my favorite way of "cooking." We also have three easy recipes on our blog for quick and tasty snacks to include on your next board:
- Warm Tomato & Herb Topping
- Nuts with Maple Balsamic Vinegar
- Fig Balsamic & Honey Drizzled Goat Cheese
Ingredients
- 2-3 varieties of cured meats
- 2 hard cheeses
- 1-2 soft cheeses
- smothered tomatoes, see recipe below
- homemade pickles, click here for recipe
- pitted olives
- whole grain mustard
- apple slices
- crusty bread, lightly toasted
Suggestions for cured meats and cheeses: prosciutto, salami, capicola, manchego, gruyere, pecorino romano and brie.
