Smoked Balsamic BBQ Sauce

The wonderful thing about making homemade barbecue sauce is that you know all the ingredients going in there – pure goodness! Plus, it’s fun to throw your chef hat in KC’s famous ring of barbecue! We’re using our Smoked Balsamic Vinegar in this Smoked BBQ Sauce which provides the perfect sweetness and smokiness. Feel free to bring the heat with crushed red pepper flakes or just a pinch of cayenne pepper. Enjoy!

Smoked Balsamic BBQ Sauce

1 Cup Olive Tree Smoked Balsamic Vinegar
3/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 garlic clove, minced
1-1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp mustard, yellow powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ground smoked black pepper

  • Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until well combined and the mixture is smooth.
  • Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes or until the mixture has reduced by 1/3. You don’t need to constantly stir, but you do want to keep an eye on it.
  • Store in an air tight jar for up to one week.
