Baked Apples with Apple Cider Balsamic

Enjoy this irresistible fall treat we just know you're going to love! Not too sweet, but just sweet enough to satisfy any craving, this baked apple dessert is perfect for families, casual weekends, larger gatherings, or even holiday celebrations.

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons Apple Cider Balsamic
  • About 2 tablespoons butter

 

Instructions:

  1. Add chopped pecans to a bowl with raisins, cinnamon, lemon zest and balsamic.
  2. Let sit for 30 minutes allowing the raisins to plump a bit.
  3. Prepare your apples by removing the core, and placing into a buttered baking dish.
  4. Drain fruit mixture from the liquid, setting aside the liquid for later.
  5. Fill the apple cavity and add a pad of butter to the top of each apple.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes in a 375 degree oven until the apples are tender.
  7. Once baked, allow to cool and lift them onto a serving plate keeping the juices that have seeped out of them.
  8. Add the baking liquid and the liquid from the fruit mixture to a sauce pan and reduce into a sauce that coats the back of your spoon.
  9. Drizzle sauce over apples.
  10. Serve!
