Join us for a special holiday treat! You will learn to make and assemble a dozen mini cinnamon rolls in class. Chef Alison will provide the cream cheese icing for you to finish your rolls off once baked at home. Come hungry as you get to have cinnamon rolls while you work.
About Chef Alison Reed, Culinary and Hospitality Management Instructor at Johnson County Community College.
Before moving back to the Kansas City area to teach pastry in late 2013, Alison was the executive pastry chef at Ripple restaurant in Washington, D.C. She helped to launch Sugar Magnolia market in March 2012. Her all-natural scratch-made ice cream sandwiches soon became the market's signature menu item. Prior to Ripple, Alison was the head pastry chef at Café Saint-Ex for more than four years. A Kansas native and a 2004 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Alison has also held positions at Cafe Mozu in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Indebleu restaurant, both in Washington, D.C. She also cooked at the James Beard House in August 2012, and was named pastry chef for James Beard's traveling Taste of America event at the Italian Embassy in September 2013.
